Meet Andrew Saunders, Agronomy Field Representative

Andrew, a Nelson County native, grew up outside of Piney River, VA on his family farming operation – Saunders Brothers. During high school, he was very active in 4-H and FFA and enjoyed showing livestock locally each year. After graduating from Nelson County High School, Andrew attended Virginia Tech University where he held several leadership positions in Block & Bridle.

While a student, Andrew worked as a Beef Specialist at the VA Tech Beef Center and held several industry internships, one of which was assisting as Beef Cattle Herd Manager at Knoll Crest Farms. In May of 2017, Andrew received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agri-Business with an emphasis in Animal Science and Crop/Soil Science.

Currently, as an Agronomy Field Representative at Augusta Co-op, Andrew performs many tasks in his role, including crop scouting, solution recommendations, variety selection, crop planning and much more. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the Augusta Co-op team including technology innovation and business planning.

Andrew currently resides in Staunton and enjoys hunting, fishing and livestock management in his spare time.
