Augusta Co-Op Acquires W F Paulett!

Effective on August 29th, 2014, Augusta Co-Op purchased the W. F. Paulett and Son Ace Hardware business and assumed operations on September 2nd. W. F. Paulett & Son Ace Hardware has been a long-time business icon in the Scottsville, VA area and has been in operation since 1914. This acquisition represents a key part of Augusta Co-Op's strategic plan to continue the co-op's business growth in the central Virginia area, to improve operational efficiencies, and to strengthen membership value and services.

As a result of this business acquisition, we will be making changes to our current Scottsville retail location over the next few months, and we ask for your patience and understanding during this transition.  We hope to have these changes completed by December 31st, 2014.

First, we will gradually transfer all walk-in retail operations to the W. F. Paulett location on US Rt 6 (127 Irish Rd) in Scottsville.  This will involve the feed, animal health, equine, pet, and farm supply divisions.  We will post signs at our current location on Rt 20 (8173 Scottsville Rd) notifying customers of our timeline and progress.

Secondly, we will continue to utilize our existing Augusta Co-Op location on US Rt 20 as an agronomy center and bulk storage facility.  Agronomy services such as fertilizer spreading, bulk lime and crop protectant applications will be coordinated from our existing facility.  Bulk mulch will also remain at this location at the present time.

One change that will take place is that the existing computer system at the Paulett location will be converted over to the computer system operated by Augusta Co-Op sometime around November 1st.  Please be patient with us as we make this transition in computer technology.

We would like to welcome all current W. F. Paulett & Son Ace Hardware customers to Augusta Co-Op!  We plan to continue the Ace Hardware and other existing store services.  Now you can enjoy getting your feed, farm supplies, and hardware all at one convenient location!  We look forward to serving you!
